What is Direct Primary Care? (DPC)
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a simpler, more personal way to get healthcare. Instead of billing insurance, you pay one flat monthly fee for unlimited access to your provider — with longer visits, same-day appointments, and direct communication whenever you need it.
-
Bianco Primary Care: 30 to 60 minute visits so your concerns are fully heard, not rushed.
Traditional care: 10 to 15 minute visits that often feel impersonal and incomplete.
-
Bianco Primary Care: When you’re sick or need to be seen quickly, you can come straight to us—often the same or next day. No waiting weeks for an appointment or heading to urgent care; your provider is here for you when you need them.
Traditional care: Appointments at traditional offices often book out weeks in advance, even when you’re sick or concerned, leaving many patients feeling like urgent care or the ER are their only options.
-
Bianco Primary Care: Call or message us directly using our Spruce platform, even after hours for urgent needs. You get answers fast, without barriers to your healthcare.
Traditional care: Communication goes through unfamiliar office staff or complicated portals, often with long waits.
-
Bianco Primary Care: You pay one flat monthly fee that covers your care. No copays, no surprise bills, and no insurance barriers getting in the way of what you need.
Traditional care: You deal with confusing billing, delayed or denied care, and unexpected charges at every turn. Insurance often stands between you and the care your doctor actually recommends.
-
Bianco Primary Care: Because we see fewer patients, we can take the time to focus on your history, your concerns, and the details that matter most to your health. That leads to more thoughtful, consistent care built around you.
Traditional care: In high-volume systems, providers are stretched thin. Appointments are often rushed, context is lost, and care can feel fragmented or surface-level.
Frequently asked questions
-
We don’t bill insurance for visits. Instead, Bianco Primary Care operates on a simple, flat monthly membership that covers your primary care needs.
Many patients choose to keep a high-deductible or catastrophic insurance plan for emergencies, and some use funds from a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for their membership.
If your employer doesn’t offer insurance—or you’ve chosen not to enroll—you can also pair DPC with a health-sharing plan (such as Christian Healthcare Ministries for example) to help cover major medical needs.
Your insurance can still be useful for things like specialist referrals, imaging, or hospital care when needed.
-
Your Bianco Primary Care provider will help coordinate referrals to specialists or hospitals if needed.
-
Insurance isn’t required to join Bianco Primary Care, but it can still be helpful. Many members keep a high-deductible or catastrophic plan for services outside of our office—like specialist visits, imaging (X-rays, CT scans), or cancer screenings such as mammograms and colonoscopies.
A lot of our patients have both: they use their insurance for major medical care and use Bianco Primary Care for everything else—where their membership covers the ongoing, personal side of primary care.
-
Your Bianco Primary Care membership includes your annual comprehensive exam (with lab work reviewed at your visit and a body composition scan), unlimited office visits, same- or next-day scheduling when needed, direct messaging through the Spruce app, preventive care, and chronic condition management.
If additional lab work is needed beyond your annual panel, we can order those at discounted rates or run them through your insurance when applicable. We also help patients find the best self-pay pricing for imaging and prescriptions whenever possible.
