Dr. Groover's OMT services
  • Dr. Groover’s interest in medicine began early. Inspired by his father, a hospice and palliative care physician, he knew from a young age that he wanted to follow a similar path. A medical mission trip to Ethiopia at age 15 had a profound impact on him and helped shape his understanding of compassionate, relationship-driven care.

He started his career in healthcare as a patient care technician in 2013, later serving for more than three years as an emergency medical scribe before beginning medical school. He earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Georgia Campus and completed his family medicine residency at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

  • Dr. Groover believes the most effective medicine begins at the root. His approach emphasizes preventive care and lifestyle foundations—sleep, movement, nutrition, emotional well-being, and spiritual health. He works with patients to strengthen these areas as a way to address or reduce many chronic concerns before long-term medications are necessary.

He also practices osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), a hands-on method used to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal issues. Whether caring for adults, children, or pregnant women, he prioritizes careful listening, clear explanations, and a calm, reassuring bedside manner that helps patients feel informed and supported.

  • Dr. Groover enjoys when patients ask about OMT or any aspect of physiology they want to understand more deeply. Teaching is one of his passions, and he loves helping patients see their health in a way that motivates meaningful, sustainable change.

  • Outside of medicine, Dr. Groover spends time with his wife, their children, and a close community of family and friends. He is a musician who plays drums, guitar, and ukulele, and he enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy. He holds a black belt in Japanese martial arts and hopes to return to training soon. Patients are often surprised to learn he is also an avid PC gamer.
